Day 2: A quote you try to live by.

What is “For what it’s worth: it’s never too late or, in my case, too early to be whoever you want to be. There’s no time limit, stop whenever you want. You can change or stay the same, there are no rules to this thing. We can make the best or the worst of it. I hope you make the best of it. And I hope you see things that startle you. I hope you feel things you never felt before. I hope you meet people with a different point of view. I hope you live a life you’re proud of. If you find that you’re not, I hope you have the strength to start all over again.” - The Curious Case of Benjamin Button movie?

I absolutely love this film. I really think that Brad Pitt and Cate Blanchett did an amazing job portraying the characters in the story. I remember watching this with my friends in the Rockwell theater in Manila. There were parts of the movie that made me laugh and cry. This is one of the few movies that made me cry. The story itself is very philosophical: What happens to a person who ages backwards. After watching the film, I wondered what would happen if that were to be me. I guess the only good thing I could think about happening is not regretting things you could have done in your youth.

The quote is very powerful. It was made just for the movie and not by the author of the book F. Scott Fitzgerald. Here's an article talking about that misconception: The Curious Case of Misquotation. But it still fits the story. To this day, I still try to live by this quote. I generally live within my comfort zone, so this quote is quite applicable to me. Plus, there are times in my life when I wished that I could reset my whole life and start all over again and this quote encourages me to do just that.
